Solar Desalination
QEERI is pioneering research in solar desalination for Qatar. A pilot Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) site will be created and coupled to a Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) plant for water desalination. The desalination process will be more efficient than ones currently used. Also, solar energy is a clean and sustainable source for generating electricity and producing freshwater.
